To request a certificate for all levels up to and including Third Term Master’s Course: The student’s teacher asks the student if s/he wants to obtain the certificate s/he is now qualified for and gives him/her the cost. Certificate costs range from JPY ¥ 6,667 (approximately CDN $ 67) for the Beginner certificate and JPY ¥ 66,667 (approximately CDN $ 677 for 3rd Term Master) plus postage costs. There is economy in numbers for postage costs – one certificate costs the same as 6, or nearly CDN $40.
If the student wishes to obtain the certificate, the teacher submits the request in writing to the President of the Ottawa Chapter, naming the student precisely and the certificate applied for. The President then informs Headquarters, naming the student, the certificate, and the teacher, copying it to both the teacher and the student, and informing Headquarters that the teacher will be forwarding the costs for the certificate(s) and postage.
To request a certificate for all levels eligible for Special Certificates (Associate 2nd Term Master, 2nd Term Master, Associate 1st Term Master, 1st Term Master): Headquarters informs the President of the Chapter annually of students who are eligible for Special Certificates. To request a certificate, if the student has completed requirements and wishes to obtain the certificate, the teacher submits the request in writing to the President of the Ottawa Chapter, naming the student precisely and the certificate applied for. The request is presented to the Board for approval. If approved, the President informs Headquarters naming the student, the certificate, the teacher, and informing Headquarters that the teacher will be forwarding the costs for the certificate(s) and postages. This letter is copied to the teacher and the student.
